Mercy is the mother of Jazz, Roxi, and so many grandkids!
Mercy is a medium gold female from our Timber and Journey. She has a plush, fairly straight coat, excellent pigment and a gorgeous blocky head. She has a good bite. She is in standard size but at the smaller end, and weighs about 55 pounds.
Mercy is from Dixie's last litter. She is earned her Rally Novice Title before she was two quite easily. She is a very calm, loving little girl with some retrieving instinct and she just loves the water, including any puddle on our walks! She loves carrying around anything she can get her paws on, including socks, my check book, etc.!
Mercy has made a substantial impact on the Harvestime lineage. She is mother to Whisper and Jazz.
Mercy retired to her foster home with the Landsverk family in Appleton. They also had our retired dog, Fuzz, living with them. Here's what the Landsverk family writes: "Our family began fostering Mercy in the winter of 2011, shortly after we adopted Fuzz. She was the younger dog we were looking for, and a nice compliment to Fuzz’s personality. While Fuzz was busy insisting that she was, in fact, in charge, Mercy was… Mercy was, well she was busy being Mercy. She quite simply didn’t care that Fuzz was the Alpha around the house. It’s not that she was competing with Fuzz, it’s just that Mercy is oblivious to most things. It was during this introductory time that we affectionately gave Mercy the nickname, “Dopey” for that is how she behaves most of the time. She didn’t sprint, she trotted. She didn’t jump up, she submitted down. And she didn’t look you in the eye, rather she sheepishly put her head on your lap to ask you for your hand. She was always sweet, always gentle, always behind Fuzz.
And that’s how we fell in love with our Dopey Mercy, by telling her it is okay to come to the front of the line, and by letting her know that she’s important too. She looks us in the eye now, but if it weren’t for her ferocious love of chasing squirrels and rabbits, one would have no idea that she even has a high gear in her. By the way, when she decides to run, she is absolutely gorgeous to watch. She’s graceful and powerful at the same time. And she still shows off the inner puppy in her when she pounces on her prey, be it an unlucky mouse, or a tennis ball.
We love our Mercy, and we thank Deb for sharing her with us!"
